Batman isn’t exactly known to be your typical cute and cuddly superhero, but he’s also known as the superhero who doesn’t kill. Surprisingly that wasn’t always the case. Back when Batman first started and later on all the way to the fifties he used to kill criminals in pretty gruesome ways like vats of acid being dumped off of rooftop hangings, although he didn’t particularly enjoy murder he still thought it was necessary.

The best superhero games by far are the Batman Arkham series which have better gameplay and a better storyline than most video games out there. Let us not forget that in the original Arkham Asylum, just the cape took the development team two years to make, imagine that…just the cape to prove that the Batman games have more attention to detail and always have lived up to the hype.

There were always weird University courses but just when you thought that university courses couldn’t get any more bat-shit crazy, pun intended. Well, they just did…the University of Victoria in Canada offers a course called the Science of Batman. Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne wasn’t just made up; it obviously got inspiration from somewhere right? This inspiration came from two revolutionaries, King Bruce who led the Scottish war of independence and Anthony Wayne a protagonist of the American Revolution.

Sidekicks shine a new light on our superhero and we all know Batman’s sidekick Robin. Robin first appeared in Detective Comics #38 in the forties where he was only supposed to debut once but then doubled comic book sales, so he was continued to be used in the series. In 1988 a comic ended on a cliffhanger, and there was a hotline setup to see whether fans wanted him to live or die. Surprisingly fans chose to kill him, but that wasn’t the end. Robin then returned years later and became a fan favorite, and he hasn’t been killed yet…….?

We all know Batman loved his gadgets from the smoke bombs to the iconic Batarang which we all know and love, the truth is Batman didn’t start out like that. Much like the way he used to kill villains, he also used all types of guns that were later ditched because he then started to hate guns because they are what his parents were killed with. Imagine a Batman that wasn’t afraid to use guns; his enemies would just bow down to the bat because he would be on a whole new level of kicking-ass.
